Sweet Shot - Mr. 17

DLT b&w

My sweet shot this week is of our son... Mr. 17. I took this picture during a photo walk of New York's Central Park which was guided by a professional photographer. My son is interested in photography and wants to purchase a nice camera (the one in the photo was borrowed). We'll see if he lets go of some of his money that he's saving for a car in order to buy that new camera :)

Sweet Shot Day - Cheesecake

Darcy at My 3 Boybarians is hosting a weekly linky at her blog called Sweet Shot Day. Each Tuesday, readers can post their photo of the week. I appreciate that she is encouraging amateurs with point & shoot cameras to join in the fun!

I recently started to design a website for a friend who has a small, local cheesecake business. So, obviously I needed photos of her cheesecakes to post in a photo gallery. I volunteered to help "style" and photograph the product she had on hand that day. No way the friend was going to turn down my free help.

My "sweet shot" (literally) is of a mini-cheesecake assortment. I shot this with a Nikon Coolpix 3100. Yes, I know my camera is woefully outdated. I'm hoping to upgrade sometime this year (hint, hint - in case my husband is reading this).

I used several applications such as FastStone and Photoscape to improve the photo as much as I could. (Photoshop and I aren't very good friends.)
