About Me



Blogging is my hobby, but I have never had my own public blog. I have private blogs for organizing our family, extra-curricular school groups, recipes, blog rolls and more. Also, I set up and maintain a few blogs for church classes, home businesses, charity events, etc.

I have been lurking around blogland for a few years now, but I'm thinking that I need to branch out. I look forward to meeting many of you through my blog and yours!

So... here is some random stuff about me in an "everything and probably more than you want to know" format.

  1. I love reading blogs - especially ones about home & family.
  2. I love studying blog designs.
  3. I am an HTML & Web 2.0 geek.
  4. So why can’t I figure out our TV/DVDR/satellite, etc?
  5. I hoard collect of anything fabric-y... tablecloths, shower curtains, window treatments, sheets, shams,
  6. Ok, I also hoard all types of decorative accessories.
  7. I’m considering renting out my stuff for parties, home staging, etc.
  8. I ♥ lettering, fonts, and calligraphy.
  9. Because I ♥ the above, I own way too many signs!
  10. Coke or Pepsi? Dr. Pepper
  11. I took ballet lessons when I was in elementary school.
  12. I don’t dance. (Does the chicken dance count?)
  13. If it’s galvanized, I love/want it!
  14. I love organizing.
  15. I have clutter issues.
  16. Those last two points are contradictory.
  17. I constantly make lists for everything.
  18. Favorite flower: Hydrangea
  19. I Cannot resist stuff/décor made of wire.
  20. Compulsive bargain-hunter
  21. Goodwill groupie
  22. Pottery Barn... especially their outlet stores
  23. Bonus points for finding cool PB stuff at Goodwill :)
  24. Cheesecake!
  25. Never learned to like coffee :(
  26. Pet peeve: grammar infractions
  27. Chandelier or back-hall light? I’m the back-hall light.
  28. I wish I had a personal Photoshop tutor.
  29. I grew up in S. California.
  30. I moved to the Southeast as soon as possible (college and beyond).
  31. I am quite shy and wish it was easier for me to make friends.
  32. Favorite TV: real estate & staging shows
  33. Favorite radio: news/talk
  34. Hero: my husband (aka “Answer Man”)
  35. Favorite child: my son
  36. Answer Man and I have remodeled, staged and sold 3 houses by owner.
  37. I designed total kitchen renovations in all 3 houses we’ve owned.
  38. Friends ask me for my ideas all the time.
  39. Major in college: home economics education
  40. I quit my job in order to become a stay-at-home mom.
  41. In my current home, I wished for white kitchen cabinets.
  42. In my current home, I chose the dark cherry ones my husband wanted (he was paying).
  43. I detest long commutes.
  44. Therefore, we live in an older neighborhood close to everything.
  45. Therefore, we live in a ranch-style house that desperately needs an exterior facelift.
  46. Our family is humor-oriented ㋡ almost to a fault, but our home is always filled with laughter.
  47. We own our own business so our financial life swings between feast and famine.
  48. God is always faithful to take care of our needs!
